Our research team has compiled a list of nearly 250 Black cultural and historical museums in the United States (the most complete list anywhere, to our knowledge), combining website lists from Blackpast.org, the Association of African American Museums, and our own ad hoc list from research visits and internet+social media searches. The list was verified by Dr. Matt Cook and two research assistants at Eastern Michigan University from 2025–2026.
